Clayton McAdam, Founder & Head Coach
CrossFit Level 1
NCCP Stage One in Olympic Lifting

Clayton’s passion for both sport and fitness has always been an integral part of his life.  Growing up, he enjoyed hockey, baseball, track, weight training and various other sports and activities.  Like so many, Clayton grew bored with the regular gym routine.  He tried CrossFit after a recommendation from a friend, and it was immediately apparent that this was the best way for him to train.

As a coach, Clayton understands that all of us have an Achilles heel in one form or another.  For some, it’s mental, and for others, it’s physical.  Clayton has personally endured several physical limitations caused by accidents.  He has overcome some of these and continues to work at conquering others.

Clayton wants you to come learn, grow and excel with him.  He wants to help you achieve higher health and knock down any barriers you may struggle against!

Matthew Anderson-Baron

Matt Anderson-Baron, Coach
CrossFit Level 1
2016 CrossFit Regionals Individual Athlete

NCCP Stage One in Olympic Lifting

Matt Anderson-Baron started CrossFit in January of 2013 and hasn't looked back since. Growing up, Matt played competitive hockey, but hung up the skates after graduating high school. The absence of competitive sport was missed, until he found CrossFit, which allowed him to be a competitive athlete again. His passion for the sport and training methodology lead him to begin coaching in April of 2014. As an athlete, he has since gone on to compete at multiple levels, most notably, qualifying for the 2016 CrossFit Games West Regionals as an individual athlete. He continues to train at a competitive level. Matt enjoys coaching CrossFit because he believes that health and wellness should be about how you feel and what you can do instead of how you look or what you weigh. He believes that CrossFit can be for everyone and that every workout is scalable to the individual's capacity. When Matt is not at CCA, you can find him in a lab coat, as he pursues his PhD in Cell Biology, or taking his 15 year-old rescue dog for slow, moderately paced walks around Oliver.

Jalene Anderson Baron

Jalene Anderson-Baron, Coach
CrossFit Level 1
NCCP Stage One in Olympic Lifting

Jalene tried her first CrossFit class in January 2013 and has been hooked ever since. Starting CrossFit changed her perspective on exercise completely - from a chore you should be doing to "stay in shape" to an activity that improves your quality of life in every way possible.  She was not an athletic person prior to trying CrossFit, but now she loves to try new sports, to test her physical limits, and to be active in any way possible. Jalene started coaching in 2014 as a way to share her love for the sport with other people and help others improve their quality of life through fitness. Whether that be improved mental or physical health, greater confidence, or learning to appreciate your body for all the amazing things it can do. She loves that no matter the level of fitness or skill someone has, they can show up for an hour and leave class feeling better than before. Jalene loves getting other people as jazzed on CrossFit as she is and helping them make the most of their time at CCA. When she isn't at the gym, Jalene can be found writing things at the University, baking treats at home, or hanging out with her very old and very soft dog, Coco.

Lisa Farlow

Lisa Farlow, Coach
CrossFit Level 1
NCCP Stage One in Olympic Lifting

Lisa Farlow has been doing Crossfit since January 2013 and coaching since September 2014. Her favourite movements are the Olympic lifts or a nice long row. Lisa likes coaching because she likes helping people stay motivated and safe while accomplishing their goals. She is a believer in health at every size and encourages all athletes, both new and experienced, to measure their progress by what they can do rather than what the scale says.  She also performs with Rapid Fire Theatre on the weekends.
